Just a cosmic girl from creative galaxy
My name is Alisa Frenkel and I am a NYC based illustrator and creativist.
I was born in Odessa, a southern Ukrainian port city situated on the Black Sea renowned for its unique sense of humor & creativity. My family is a diversely creative bunch of individuals, so I grew up with a passion for arts and crafts. Because of this, I was always eager to learn new creative skills like – drawing, sewing, and sculpting, thus I developed a 'Why not?' attitude towards creative requests I would receive from friends, family, and clients. Whenever someone would come to me with an idea, no matter how complex or unknown it was to me, I would say 'Why not?'. This two-word phrase became my motto.
At the age of 18 I started a superhero comics inspired crafts and jewelry business with a friend (which we obviously called 'Why Not?'), and began exhibiting our work at large scale exhibitions and trade shows around Ukraine.
In 2014 I graduated with a degree in Advertising & PR from Odessa National Polytechnic University, and in 2018 I graduated from City College in NYC with a degree in Advertising & Communications.
After finishing my schooling I turned my spacecraft on a path to the illustrative universe.
As I journey into new mediums I’m constantly on the lookout for new creative adventures. Thus, the horizon of my creative galaxy is forever-expanding, just like our universe.
Apart from my galactic adventures I occupy my free time with floristry, collecting children's books, and traveling around this planet.
